font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman'; text-align: justify;\">Turning to Ethan I asked, \u201cDo you love me?\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman'; text-align: justify;\">He looked startled and confused before saying, \u201cOf course, why?\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman'; text-align: justify;\">\u201cJust making sure.\u00a0 So you wouldn\u2019t mind if I were a <a href=\"http:\/\/h2g2.universal-nexus.com\/leytgeleshi\/\" target=\"_blank\">leytgelez<\/a>, then.\u00a0 Good.\u201d \u00a0I smiled and kissed him then snuggled closer as I laughed at the foursome on stage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman'; text-align: justify;\">\u201cIs that your subtle way of telling me you\u2019ve become a leytgelez, or just that you\u2019re thinking about it?\u201d he asked sounding reassuringly amused.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman'; text-align: justify;\">\u201cThinking about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman'; text-align: justify;\">\u201cCool.\u201d\u00a0 He tightened his arms around me and we enjoyed the show and, later, each other.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman'; text-align: justify;\">I spent the morning carefully selecting just the right clothes and make up.\u00a0 I\u2019d known Lady Salarissa for awhile.\u00a0 It\u2019d have been hard not to, I swear the woman knows everyone for at least six systems in every direction.\u00a0 Still, I wanted to look the part.\u00a0 It seemed important.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman'; text-align: justify;\">Ready, finally, I set out to the Salon to take my place there.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman'; text-align: justify;\">\u201cGood morning, dear,\u201d Salarissa said to me as I stepped into her Salon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman'; text-align: justify;\">\u201cGood morning,\u201d I said, then hesitated.\u00a0 I really wanted this, but I was suddenly nervous.\u00a0 <em>What if I&#8217;m not good enough?<\/em> I thought for a heart freezing moment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman'; text-align: justify;\">\u201cDid you need anything, dear?\u201d she asked gently, probably sensing my sudden nervousness.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman'; text-align: justify;\">I nodded and regaining the confidence and determination I&#8217;d felt when I&#8217;d realised this was exactly what I wanted to do with my life (perhaps what I was meant to do), I said, \u201cI&#8217;d like to become a leytgelez, milady.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman'; text-align: justify;\">She stared at me for a moment then smiled and said, kindly, \u201cWalk with me, dear.\u201d\u00a0 She guided me out into the gardens in the middle of the villa.\u00a0 After awhile she stopped to admire the colourful fish swimming in an ornamental fountain then she asked, \u201cWhat makes you wish to be a leytgelez, child?\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman'; text-align: justify;\">I shrugged. \u00a0\u201cHonestly, it&#8217;s the only thing I can imagine being good at.\u00a0 This or a prostitute \u2026 frankly I don&#8217;t like the latter.\u00a0 It seems too \u2026\u201d I sought a proper word and settled on, \u201cimpersonal.\u00a0 I&#8217;ll admit:\u00a0 I&#8217;m very sexual.\u00a0 I&#8217;m much more interested in the folks who are looking for the physical company rather than intellectual.\u00a0 Still, that doesn&#8217;t mean I don&#8217;t want to flirt, talk, make love \u2026 be more than just some rented toy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman'; text-align: justify;\">She smiled at me as she tucked a strange violet flower into my hair at my temple. \u00a0\u201cYou&#8217;re saying you\u2019re no philosopher nor any kind of poet, but you care far too much for people to leave them fulfilled only in body and that only incompletely since it would be nothing more than \u2026 shall we say &#8216;a deposit&#8217;?\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman'; text-align: justify;\">\u201cYeah.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman'; text-align: justify;\">\u201cYou hesitated earlier.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 You&#8217;re a charming and intelligent girl, surely your biggest fear should only have been that I&#8217;d say some foolish thing about having no room for a new leytgelez at the moment or, worse, some demented nonsense about your age.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman'; text-align: justify;\"><em>She knows!<\/em> I realised in shock.\u00a0 <em>She&#8217;s leaving it for me to say it out loud, but I can see it in her eyes \u2026 she <\/em>knows<em>!<\/em>\u00a0 I marvelled as, for the second time in the years I&#8217;d known her, I encountered the Lady&#8217;s power to \u2026 well \u2026 supposedly her species can<em>not<\/em> read minds, but despite that the woman is notorious for having an unnerving skill at it anyway.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman'; text-align: justify;\">I started to look away, but then realised there&#8217;s no shame in a bit of humility paired with awe. \u00a0\u201cI&#8217;m no artist.\u00a0 I can sing, but not spectacularly; I can pick a few songs out on a loothin; I&#8217;m an atrocious poet; I&#8217;ve too little interest in the deeper mind to have studied philosophy or psychology \u2026 I&#8217;m really just not any kind of artist.\u00a0 You&#8217;ve so many people who&#8217;re so brilliant and talented.\u00a0 I suddenly felt so inadequate, like I wasn&#8217;t good enough to join such a Salon as you&#8217;ve got.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman'; text-align: justify;\">She held my hand, and with her other she brushed a stray lock of hair from my face as she kissed me softly.\u00a0 \u201cBut my dear, you <em>are<\/em> an artist, and a fine one at that.\u00a0 You&#8217;ve simply got so much natural talent in you that you can&#8217;t see how uncommon someone like yourself is.\u00a0 Conversation, companionship, caring, loving, even eroticism are all arts in themselves.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve always found you to be engaging, witty, charming, good humoured, quick to smile, tender, opinionated, strong of mind and will, and anyone who is eager and willing enough to share bodily pleasures could write volumes on erotic art if given the barest inspiration \u2013 you could be taught all any here knows then turn around and teach us all a good many things by the end of the <a href=\"http:\/\/h2g2.universal-nexus.com\/time-galfarran\/\" target=\"_blank\">sulid<\/a>.\u00a0 I couldn&#8217;t ask for a better leytgelez, dear.\u00a0 Of course you may join my Salon.\u00a0 I only asked to be sure that it&#8217;s what you truly wanted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman'; text-align: justify;\">I beamed and threw my arms around her and hugged.\u00a0 I was so happy I couldn&#8217;t speak.\u00a0 Finally, I found my voice, \u201cThank you, milady!\u00a0 Can I start soon?\u00a0 Not today, I&#8217;ve got to tell Mommy, and Ethan!\u00a0 And Daddy and\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman'; text-align: justify;\">&#8220;You&#8217;ve found the perfect eye-shadow to wear with your newest dress?&#8221; \u00a0I asked sarcastically. \u00a0I knew she wouldn&#8217;t be that excited over eye-shadow, but I firmly believe that it&#8217;s a Dad&#8217;s job to tease his kids.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman'; text-align: justify;\">&#8220;No! \u00a0I&#8217;ve become a leytgelez! \u00a0Isn&#8217;t that great?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm; font-size: 12pt; text-align: justify;\">She sighed, then spoke slowly, like I was an idiot. \u00a0&#8220;I&#8217;ve become a leytgelez. \u00a0Well, actually an apprentice leytgelez, but still \u2026 I start tomorrow.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman'; text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Cassie, that&#8217;s not funny. \u00a0I mean, I know I&#8217;ve said you looked like a whore a lot, but \u2026&#8221; \u00a0I cut my sentence short, seeing her face. \u00a0She looked like she was trying to decide whether to hit me or cry. \u00a0&#8220;Cassie! \u00a0You know what I mean!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm; font-family: 'times new roman'; text-align: justify;\">&#8220;What <em>are<\/em> you talking, or rather, shouting about then, <a href=\"http:\/\/h2g2.universal-nexus.com\/tafinith-robin-thase-ne-kavaliro\/\" target=\"_blank\">Robin<\/a>?&#8221; \u00a0asked Karen from the doorway, with a look that said if I answered wrong I&#8217;d be sleeping in the doghouse (literally.\u00a0 My wife is evil) for the next korva or so.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent: 1.27cm;
